What Causes Lump On The Neck With Pain And Fatigue?

i am 37 and for over tens years i have been experiencing discomfort in my neck under jaw area, which i know now that is my lymph node. Currently i an having more discomfort then ever before. I have a very hard lump now; it is in one place but moves a bit. I went to see a doctor last week and he put me on steroids hoping the swlling would go away. I have no other symptoms except some fatigue and since two days ago the pain shoots down to my shoulder and it is also hard and a bit swollen. The doctor also told me to go see a surgeon if the steroids haven't worked, which they havent. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Steroids in such case are not a good idea. Your symptoms may be caused by tooth abscess, throat abscess or lymph nodes enlargement due to some inflammation or even lymphoma.
I suggest you to do not wait any longer with it. Steroids wont help. Please consult a surgeon or laryngologist. Proper diagnostics should be done.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
