What Causes Lump On Neck?

my sister in law just had a CAT scan on her neck, she has a lump that both the dentist and internist told her they didn t know what it was . we should know something tomorrow, but i don t like the sound of this, any thoughts on the matter? thank you Janice

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Lump in neck can be enlarged cervical lymphnode, soft tissue tumor or cyst.

Enlarged lymphnode may be due to reactive hyperplasia, tuberculosis or lymphoma. Soft tissue tumor may be lipoma, neurofibroma or dermatofibroma. or some benign cyst. There are so many causes of lump in neck. You should go for examination first. Then if needed go for fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy of that lump.
It will give you exact diagnosis. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
