What Causes Lump Beneath The Skin On Buttocks After A Fall?
I fell down a flight of stairs and hit my butt pretty hard. As expected it hurts like #$%¥, but surprisingly there is no bruising. Instead there is just a big hard lump beneath the skin. You can t see it, it s not swelling up or anything. Is it possible that it s some kind of bleeding? Like an invisible subcutaneous hematoma kinda thing?
Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM. Yes it can be a subcutaneous hematoma and selling due to inflammation. It will go on its own as it will get absorbed by surrounding tissues with time. It will take around 10 days to disappear. But first get an x-ray of that region to just rule out presence of any fracture in that region. Once ruled out then apply ice to it 2-3 times a day. Do not apply any hot fomentations or creams containing menthol as it will worsen the swelling and pain. Take ibuprofen tablet twice a day to keep pain and inflammation to minimum. With above advice recovery will be quicker. I hope I answered your question satisfactorily. If you have any more query kindly write back to me, will be happy to help you out. Thank you.
