What Causes Lump Below The Ankle With History Of Ankle Fracture?

i had cracked my bones around ankle due to accident. It has been 4mnths,a hard lump that feels like bones is below my ankle ball.I dnt feel any pain even by putting pressure on it, however excess walking or putting pressure on leg causes irritation there and hot water/oil msg can only reduce the pain then.Do i need to worry about it or is it the normal healing process.Thankyou.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Fracture at any site heals well without leaving behind any lump or swelling.
Feeling of a bony hard swelling near the fracture site required clinical examination and possibly a X-ray too.
In some instances, injury / trauma are followed by ossification in the soft tissues and muscles.
This condition is called myositis ossificans.
This is quite painful condition and the swelling caused by it is hard.
However, this is one of the many possibilities which can lead to hard swelling.
I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment and thus management.

Thanks and take care
