Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter s lower back has been hurting for the last several days. She is 12. I can t remember an injury to the area, although she is very active and plays sports. She complains it is very painful when sitting for long periods of time. (School) Do you think this is just a muscle strain or should I get it checked out?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is not the injury then it may be muscular spasm and in this age group it is very uncommon, second premenstrual syndrome need to be ruled out, some time it could be due to urinary tract infection particularly in female patient, pain can be managed with "Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day" but condition need to be further investigated accordingly, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
