What Causes Lower Back Pain And Leg Numbness While Suffering From Disc Bulge?

Hello Sir/ madam, I am suffering from a disc bulge problem as shown in MRI & L4-L5 detected i have pain in my left lower back & if i stand or walk for ten minutes my lower body like both legs & in others numbness is observed. I consulted doc & they gave me pain killers & other capsules , syrup & tablets like pan ... & gabamax. they also suggested me 20 days complete bed rest with all my things on bed like eating n washroom & all. today is my 3rd day & due to complete bed rest i feel body pain n back pain too. so i m confused whether m recovering or not?? i can bear my pain so shall i not take pain killers like pan... & pan syrup?? since i can walk for some minutes , so can i go to washroom n all??

I really appreciate your concern, if this the disk degenerative disease then such symptoms are very likely to happen, some time it may need some surgical intervention till then condition can be managed with NSAID (Non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) but best would be rest, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
