What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain While Suffering From Bronchitis?

My husband has had bronchitis for 2 weeks. His coughing caused terrible pain the the lower right side of his stomach. Today we noticed a severe bruise has formed there. Should he go to a dr? How serious is the bruise. It’s large, and red and purple.

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Severe coughing can cause strain to lower abdominal muscles causing pain (specially while coughing)
The bruice there indicates ruptured blood capilaries in skin... following strain to abdominal tissue.
In absence of any tenderness ,lump or digestive complains.. bruicesare symptomatic in nature... treatment consists of treating the bronchitis. Please consult a chest specialist.(you would need antibiotic,antiallergic & bronchodilater drugs along with cough mediicines.
