What Causes Low Pulse Rate During A Cataract Surgery?

I had been for a cataract surgery and my pulse rate was 50-55, and my blood pressure was 160. The Anesthist told me that we normally do not do the surgery in this situation. However the doctor did my cataract operation and it went smoothly. All I want to know why my pulse rate goes low. My age is 61 years.

Hello,

As long as you don't feel problems, it's okay. I don't think that has to do with surgery. People who train or work hard have a lower pulse. You do not take any medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi
