What Causes Low-grade Fever When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism?

I have a hardened, sensitive, warm tube behind my right ear. It came on suddenly and I feel like I also have a low-grade fever. The right ear and tube are normal. Should I seek help? I am scheduled to fly tomorrow, should I avoid? I am a relatively healthy, 63 year old male. I do occasionally have allergies (when pollen is high) and am treated for hypothyroidism (Levothyroxin 125)
