What Causes Low Blood Pressure While Suffering From Schizoaffective Disorder?
My brother (55) is diagnosed Schizo=affective disorder suddenly experiencing low blood pressure. He is now in a behavioral center temporarily. They give him Adovan o.5, Tofranal 50, Trazadome 50, Medodrine 2.5. an just aded Zyprexa and Haldol. BP remains very low 70/60. Are these meds counterproductive, antagonistic to increasing BP?
Low blood pressure might be caused by the treatments used for the schizoaffective disorder. Low blood pressure is a common side effect of these treatments.
He can try using more salt on his diet, drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables. If the situation doesn't improve he should consult his psychiatrist to change any of the medications he is actually taking.
Hope I have answered your query.
