What Causes Loud Noises In The Ear Post An Infection?

My daughter has had an infection (swollen glands, phlegm) and is currently on an antibiotic. she woke up last week delirious and with loud noises in her ear . This had settled down until tonight when she could not sleep because any noise seemed very loud.... what could cause this?

Hi,

Well it looks like Tinnitus that is ringing in ears and it can be secondary to infection only. So the first thing that you need to do is to consult an Otolaryngologist and get her evaluated.

An otoscopic examination of the ear has to be done to rule out the exact cause. An inflamed ear drum or perforation of eardrum are probable causes, however after examination exact cause can be ruled out and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
