What Causes Loss Of Papillae On The Tongue?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... A week ago, I began using inhalers for asthma. About 2 days ago, I noticed that my tongue has what looks like some of the papillae are gone. There s one long one and about 3 more at the back of my tongue. It almost looks like I bit my tongue but I didn t. It also doesn t hurt at all. What could cause this?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Due to the inhaler you may be having candidiasis of the tongue. So the tongue is coated and is losing papillae. Start Hexidine gargle and candid month paint over the tongue twice daily. Take a vitamin supplement once daily for 2 week.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
