Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi doc...my father is 66 year old and had got angioplast 4 years back.He is very prone to cold and now becas of the medicines intake,he is not willing to eat anything and now his motions are not at all clear .So,do i need any other medical attention for him ?
Since your Father is 65 years old and has undergone cardiac procedure he has to continue medications.
Suffering from cold means he may be having viral fever which reduces appetite, makes the patient weak and can affect any system of body including gastrointestinal system causing problems with nausea, vomiting and loose stools.
Hence, it is advisable to go for medical checkup send samples of stool, blood and urine to get a probable cause.
If there is any evidence of infection a course of an antibiotic may be needed along with symptomatic treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
