What Causes Loss Of Appetite In A Toddler Despite Administering Cypon?
My child is 2.8 years after each 7 -8 days he stopped eating chapatti, dal, veggie, fruits etc. He feeds only 400ml of milk in a day. Then he usually eat only 2-3 bites of chapatti. He starves also and started hating dal or cereals and veggie too. Our Doctor recommend him to give Cypon and Bevon twice a day with appropriate dosage but still after two months he started loosing his appetite. He is not even gaining weight also. Constant weight 12 kgs from last 2 years. We are very much worried about his health. Beside this he is too much naughty he wants to knoe every thing arohnd him except food.
* The loss of appetite in a toddler with weight loss indicates underlying GI infection of some sort or another issue.
* Cypon is supportive care with digestive supplementation of certain forms, but basic pathology needs to be tackled to cure the issue.
* In my clinic, I do recommend blood investigations with complete blood counts, serum Widal test, stool microscopy and ultrasound examination as primary tools of workup of the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
