What Causes Loss Of Appetite And Yellowish Diarrhea After Taking Augmentin For Ear Infection?
Hi my 15 month old has recently got a throat and ear infection. The doc prescribed her augumentum. She s been taking it for 6 days now 2mls twice daily. Since taking the medicine, she has lost her appetite ( she will eat little bites) and have very watery yellow coloured poo, is this a normal effect??she will drink her formula, water and juice etc.

These are the few common adverse effects of this antibiotic (amoxycillin) on gastrointestinal tract.This antibiotic usually disturbs or destroys the our beneficial normal intestinal bacterial floras and that is responsible for watery colored poo,decrease appetite is due local gastritis by antibiotic.Nothing to worry for these symptoms as they will subside after stopping of that antibiotic.
