What Causes Loose Dark Brown Stool?

HI, last night and this morning I noticed when I had a BM that not only was it loose, but there was dark brown/black oily drops on top of the water. I had food yesterday with olive oil and I have no idea why this wouldn t have been absorbed. Any ideas?

Hi,

As I always say that the color consistency and whatever the appearance of the stool is there could be due to the diet taken, if no symptoms are there then there is nothing to worry. If it is being watched then it may give different ideas, may create the doubt and to clear the doubt stool need to be sent for the lab test, else what you are seeing could be different when it is being seen by doctor. In short gross looks is the only option of confirmation besides you.
