What Causes Lips Tingling, Itching, Burning And Darkening?

for the month of august, the first nite of my vacation in Europe, my lips starting tingling like I was going to get a fever bilster but instead my lips swelled to 2x their normal size. They are no longer swollen but are itching, burning and have turned black. I ve stopped wearing lipstick and gloss, just use raw cocoa butter and medicated Blistex. No known allergies but I ve stopped eating nuts and chocolate. I take half a Benedryl at night. What is going on!!??!!

Hi thanks for using Healthcaremagic
The symptoms you mentioned is of anaphylaxis (sudden development allergy)
You are lucky that your symptoms subsided without any treatment..

usually the symptoms progresses ...Intravenous antihistamines and sometimes steroids will be needed

you have to find out the cause for anaphylaxis
It is better to keep anti-Histamine tablet and steroid tablet in your wallet.Next time you can have the antihistamine at the initial stage itself ...If it doesn't respond take the steroid tablet and go to the emergency care

Thank you.....
