What Causes Lip Discoloration After Using Cinnamon Oil And Vaseline Mixture?

Hi Doctor, lately I ve been using cinnamon oil mixed With Vaseline, for a natural lip plumper. I don t use it everyday, but I ve noticed that the color on the end corners of my upper lip are fading, should I be worried? How can I fix that? Is the cinnamon oil with Vaseline causing that? Please help!!

Hi dear .

As per your query your lip color is fading . Well it do not seems to me that lip fading is occurring because of cinnamon oil and Vaseline . There can be many reasons for fading of lip color like oral thrush , fordyce granule or fordyce spot ,herpes or sun damage . I would suggest you to give your lip cold compresses twice a days and apply lip balm containing sunscreen with SPF 15all the times . consult dermatologist for proper examination and to rule out causes like lip cancer . Doctor may prescribe antiseptic cream , anti fungal cream , anti sebum cream or recommend laser therapy .
