What Causes Lightheadedness With Nausea In The Elderly Males?

My 66 year old husband complains of lightheadedness and a bit of nausea. His Pulse is regular strong and 60. BP 130/80. Blood sugar 2 hours after breakfast is 168. i dont suspect he is dehydrated. It has occured a few times recently he said. It happened today when he got out of bed and again a little later on a slow dog walk in the park. He takes no medications, but he is watching what he eats because his blood sugar is elevated to pre diabetes.

Hello and greetings

As per your description, if his blood pressure and blood sugar levels are normal, then i would advise you to get his complete blood count done. Many a times, due to low hemoglobin, patient do have dizziness especially in elderly patient. And nausea could be due to dizziness.

Also, get his ear examination done. Any pathology in ear can cause dizziness.

Thanks for the contact.
