What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding With Clumps Lately After Having C-section?

I had a csection 4 months ago. I m not pregnant and I think I just got my period but it s very light. But when I wipe it s kinda brown and clumps come out when I use the bathroom. Could it be the lining? Or just my self cleaning itself out from the csection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
The first period after child birth, whether vaginal or C-section, can be different from your regular periods. Often women have not actually ovulated and the cycle may be irregular at first, or delayed, especially if breast feeding. It is not unusual for the first few periods after childbirth, and most especially the first one, to be either heavy or light and "brown with clumps" does not sound unusual. I would agree that it is your self cleaning itself out. The lining of the uterus sheds itself and produces blood that is red (or brown if it sits for awhile), and can also shed some clumps of uterine lining tissue.
