What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding And Nausea After Taking Levonelle?
I m on Cerelle so have no idea where my cycle s up to - I don t have periods. I took the last pill from the last pack 14 hours late and had unprotected sex 6 days later (when really I should have been using extra protection). I have since been taking the pill normally. I took Levonelle 36 hours after the incident (Monday) and started bleeding brown blood on Friday, becoming red by Sunday. It s now Monday, I m still bleeding but it s generally been lighter than a normal period, but I m getting hot flashes, nausea and a metallic taste in my mouth. Are these just symptoms of the hormones leaving my body or could I be pregnant?

Commonly, it is the hormonal changes that cause the symptoms that you are experiencing. Once the body adjusts, the symptoms go away by themselves. However, each patient is unique & the symptoms may vary.
Vaginal bleeding similar to a normal period may occur after taking the morning after pill, but you could still be pregnant. Sometimes abnormal bleeding may also occur.
You are suggested to take a pregnancy test if you are nauseous & develop pregnancy like symptoms. Get clinically examined by a gynae so that you can take the treatment required at the earliest.
