What Causes Light Green Vaginal Discharge During Periods?

Hi. I ve never used tampons before, always pads. I suffer from pcos and non stop menstruation. I just recently discovered using tampons and love them. Yesterday, however, there was a light green, pus like discharge on one side of my used tampon. It happened again today. What should I do?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Greenish discharge can be due to trichomonas vaginalis infection. A swab test will be helpful to rule out the condition. For such condition in my patients I would recommend using metronidazole as vaginal suppository or as oral tablets. Using intimate wash daily will be helpful to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
