What Causes Light Brown Spotting, lower Abdominal Pain And Cramps In Thigh?

I an 31 years old about to turn 32. Back in dec. I had light bleeding for 21 days. Everything went back to normal for me. When I say that I mean debilitating cramps that shoot into my thighs sometimes ( cramps all the time) on the first day. My blood flow has always been heavy but what is scaring me is this. I feel pressure in my lower stomach and sometimes my bladder.. There are times when the pressure makes me feel like I can t breath. I have a low grade temp that lasts a week or two at a time. I ve heard it could be fibroid tumors. Now today I m having pain all day and it hurts to sit or use the restroom. It doesn t burn at all. Now I m bleeding again lightly and it s brown/ blackish. Pls help with advise. also my period blood was really bright this month. I haven t had sex in two years.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from light brown spotting, lower abdominal pain and cramps in the thigh. Your symptoms are indicative of hormonal imbalance, thyroid dysfunction, obesity, PCOS, cervical polyp, fibroid or endometriosis. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist. Get required blood tests and imaging tests done.

Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and the severity of your symptoms. Commonly conservative treatment is given. Surgery is recommended only when the body is not responding to the treatment being given. In the meantime, do regular walking, maintain healthy weight. Take Spasmol (spasmoproxyvon), one SOS when abdominal pain. Stay away from addictions, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
