What Causes Lethargy, Low Appetite And Pressure Sores Post Brain Surgery?

My husband has stage 4 kidney cancer. He also had a large meningioma on the frontal lobe of his head. Even though he had memory loss and could get very angry, with medication he seemed to be improving. It has been three months since the brain surgery and last week everything changed. He is very lethargic, has little appetite and is getting pressure sores. Is this the beginning of the end or shall I hope for improvement?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Pressure sores must be managed adequately, otherwise, it will lead to sepsis.

Make sure that his electrolyte (sodium and potassium) is within normal range or not. Electrolyte imbalances can cause similar symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
