What Causes Less Forceful Ejaculation After Taking Avodart?

I ve been on Advodart for about ten years. Over time my ejaculation has become less and less when I masturbate. The last time there was virtually none if there was any. I was plenty erect and did have a good strong orgasm. Is that what Advodart does? I ve afraid to stop the medication so I can ejaculate more, for fear of prostate enlargment leading to worse things. I am 76 years old.

Hello,

The Avodart contains Dutasteride which is used for the purpose of symptomatic relief of benign prostate hyperplasia via controlling growth of the tissue and partial regression over a period of times.

However, Dutasteride is associated with number of side effects pertaining to sex function as:
- Loss of libido
- Erectile dysfunction
- Loss of orgasm

Kindly discuss the issue of your weak ejaculation with your doc and then decide to stop the drug with an alternative for prostate issue.
