What Causes Left Sided Chest Pains And Numbness In Arms?

I have been having pains in the left side of my chest for the last few days that come and go and my left arm is numb in the mornings but gets better as the day goes on. My BP and heart rate are normal. My pains seem to subside if I drink water or eat something. Just wondering if I should have this checked out??

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since your symptoms are improving after drinking water and eating food, possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) related pain is more.
But better to rule out heart diseases despite of normal blood pressure and heart rate because left sided chest pain is commonly seen in heart diseases.
So get done ecg. If ecg is normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
GERD and gastritis are likely causes in your case.
So avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid stress and tension. Drink plenty of fluids orally. Take proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole on empty stomach.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Better to first rule out heart diseases by ecg.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
