What Causes Lazy Right Eye And Problem In Using Right Hand In 7 Month Old?

My 7month old son is not using his right hand he moves it around and sometimes opens it but he won t grab anything with it and mostly keeps it shut. However I also was told by my family doctor that my sin also has a lazy right eye. He says it s common in babies and can be fixed. I m am now worried that they are both related and want some advice on what might be wrong or how serious it is.

Good afternoon..!!

Lazy eye is common in babies upto one year of age. So you can wait and watch.

Not usage of only right hand in a 7 month child raises a suspicion of paresis or weakness of that limb due to some problem in the brain sometimes.

Stimulate your baby by using bright coloured objects.

So if persisting, it's better to visit pediatric opthalmologist and a pediatric neurologist for further evaluation and management.

Thank you, have a nice day..!!!
