What Causes Lack Of Fetal Heartbeat On Pregnancy Scan?

I went for a vaginal ultrasound today and was told the baby is 6 and a half weeks in size -8mm long but had no heartbeat and have been advised to prepare to miscarry as the baby stopped growing a week and a half ago. My lmp was 8 weeks and 4 days ago however I didn't have intercourse until 5 weeks and 2 days ago so I cannot understand why the baby is 6 and a half weeks already? I also cannot accept that there is no heartbeat as I feel it is to early. I haven't had any symptoms or miscarriage and I really need a second opinion

1.Fetal heart rate is measured 5 1/2 weeks trans vaginally and 6 1/2 weeks trans abdominally.
2.If your LMP 6 .5 weeks and LMP 8 weeks - this difference is acceptable, possibilities of stoppage of growth couple of weeks early is also possible.
3.Intercourse 5 weeks before will not make difference - most probably the pregnancy is due to the intercourse around 8 weeks earlier.
4.In this case repeat a scan after a week and if heart beat seen well and good ( possibilities are less) if not then abortion is treatment of choice.
5.In case of intact G sac there will not be much symptoms.
