What Causes Lack Of Appetite, Excess Thirst And Swollen Knee?

My mom is 83 years old and has just recently completely lost her apetite and is not thirsty at all. She also has swollen knees and can barely walk and her tongue is red and swollen and she said it burns so she cant eat. Also she is having pain in her side, what do you think this can be caused from?

I really appreciate your concern, over all it could be geriatric condition and some time it is the temporary phase just wait for some time and it will be fine soon, she may be in a need of some moral support hope this information helps.
