What Causes Kidney Pain After Surgical Abortion?

Hi, I had a surgical termination at 11.5wks just over a wk ago. I've since found out I need to go back as it was incomplete but I've been experienceing pain in the vicinity of my kidneys since. All of my FBC/ELFT came back normal so they don't suspect infection. What else could it be?

Hello,
In the current scenario, one should begin by excluding causes one by one right from the surface onward. Muscle pain over the Erector muscles can cause this picture and hence should be ruled out. If infection of the urinary system and genital system has been excluded, a sonogram of the abdomen with concentration over the renal area should be done to exclude anatomic causes. Handling of the tissues during the procedure also can cause referred pain. also, the position adopted during the procedure can cause pain afterward. Hope this helps.
