What Causes Itchy Raised Bumps Along Bra And Panty Lines?
I have itchy raised bumps along my bra and panty lines - only where it is tightest. I have not changed washing powder or underwear type, or diet, there is nothing different. I also get the same raised bumps if I have pressure on one place for a long time, like on my back after a long car journey, if something in my clothes have been pressing. If I scratch the bumps spread. They can be any size or shape but often follow the line of what is tight. What is causing this? Is it just heat?
Hello there! You're suffering from Pressure Urticaria(more accurately called DelayedPressure Urticaria or DPU). The 'raised itchy bumps' along the line of pressure (elastic bands/straps in innerwear) or after prolonged pressure on the skin (like 'on your back after a long car journey') are characteristic symptoms. It is essentially a type of allergy brought on by pressure on the skin. Therapy consists of avoidance (not always practical), wearing garments with broader straps (for better pressure distribution) and a variety of drugs including levocetirizine (xyzal),monteleukast etc. Please consult a dermatologist. Do write in for more info. All the best!
