What Causes Itchy Dry Areas Around Vagina?

Ive just come of a 7day antibiotic treatment and have been suffering mostly at night from a particularly itchy vagina and rectum area, i also have found small tears that burn when i pee and only recently i have found crust dry areas around my vagina, i thought it was thrush, but im not sure

Thank you for posting your query to HCM.

Yes, it most probably is a thrush infection. The fact that it came after the use of an antibiotic, and the place where it has developed indicates factors that have helped the fungal grow.

Try to keep it as dry as possible. I usually suggest to my patients to take Canesten 2% cream, to use twice/day for 5 days. If it is used with a thick layer, spread to cover about 2 cm over and outside the borders of the crusts, it will be enough to clean the infection.

If it doesn't get better, or is getting worse, consider to have it checked by your local doctor. Its very low possibility to be something else, but sometimes is better to have a look.
