Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has developed these itchy bumps that start small and then turn into a huge bite that looks like a new mosquito bite and then bruise. They appear on her upper body like her neck, face, arms, upper torso. We saw our family doctor who said that they did not appear to be hives which is what we thought. She prescribed prednisone which did not help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy bumps on the upper body which is probably due to a viral infection which is lowering down your immunity and could be due to allergic reactions.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take a combination of the antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory medications. Apply an ice pack to reduce itchiness and redness. You should wear cotton clothes and avoid exposure to the sun. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keep on persisting visit dermatologist once and get some routine blood investigation and skin patch test done. Avoid application of any cosmetics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
