What Causes Itching On Scar After Appendix Removal Surgery?

I have a scar from having my appendix removed 20 years ago and occasionally itchy bumps will appear similar to a bug bite. After an hour or so the bumps will disappear along with the itch. What might cause something like that to appear a few times a year for such a long period of time?

Hi. You might be having urticaria- a transient itchy condition. Urticaria is an allergic manifestation, usually due to certain drugs, infections, and food items. If you arw having urticaria for few days a year, you need to take non sedating antihistamines for couple of days. Identifying the culprit agent is tough. But, maintaining a drug and food diary might help. Hope it answers your queries.
