I have this itching feeing inside my chest. I can t physically scratch it because it s inside my chest. I feel it the most when I cough it s located under the muscle in my breast/ in rib cage/ inside my lungs. I don t understand where this coming from because I never had asthma but I was diagnosed with bronchitis in high school about 8 years ago. But I haven t been bothered with bronchitis since 2009. So can you please help so I do have to many an expensive dr bill? Thanks
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Itchy feeling in chest is mostly due to 1. Retained secretions 2. Inflammed and edematous bronchi (seen in bronchitis). Since you had bronchitis in the past, chances of recurrence are high. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system. 2. Chest x ray 3. PFT ( pulmonary function test ). Chest x ray is needed to rule out retained secretions. PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Don't worry, you will be alright.
