What Causes Itching And Inflammation In Throat?

Hi, For about 5 days now I ve been experiencing some scratchiness in the back of my throat. I don t notice any said patches. The roof of my mouth and my inner cheeks are a really light pink but when you get to the back it gets pretty red especially my thorax? I m 33, I use chewing tobacco and use alcohol. Is this just an irritation since I chew often and need a break or should I get this checked out? Please advise

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A short course of antibiotics can be tried empirically. Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
