What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation In The Lower Legs?

I have been treated for lupus since 1988. One problem that I have that the doctors do not contribute to Lupus is a skin problem on my lower legs. They blister and itch and burn and what I term as blisters are big welts under the skin. My legs crack and fluid leaks. I have had cellulitis in my legs. They are very discolored and look very ugly. They do have a fever in them. I also run a temperature of 97.1 and a little higher and I get very cold. Is this part of Lupus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
dear
although in majority of cases we cannot relate lupus to the leg ailment, yes as it is rightly said can be cellulitis due to the certain skin infection superimposed with secondary bacterial infection.Had I been your treating doctor i would have advised for a detailed blood work with a clinical examination of the legs.
Please take good care of your diet as well, increase protein and lot of fluids and rest.
hope this helps
most welcome for further queries
