What Causes Itchiness On The Anus Which Looks Like A Dark Purple Line?

When I was in labour pushing on my knees I heard the midwife tell a student that the drak purpke line inbetween my bum cheeks was called something. Its never gone away. It occasionally itches and gets really raw and sore if I have itched. Its not near my anus but coccyx. What is this please?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having perianal dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply an antifungal plus steroid cream like candid-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
