What Causes Itchiness And Skin Peeling On The Hands And Feet Despite Using Hydrocortisone?

Hi, I am a male 37 years old and my hands and feet have been peeling for about a week. I was recently in Florida for 2 weeks and when I got back my hands and feet were very itchy. Since I ve been home I did have a head cold with a ruiny nose and sneezing but I am already over it. I have been using lotion and it has not helped. I now started using hydrocortisone gel and that doesn t seem to be helping either. What should I do?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having keratolysis exfoliativa.
My treatment advice is -
1. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it.
2. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching.
3. Other treatment options are topical steroid and oral multivitamins taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
