Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My period started May 7th and it ended on May 10th I was very light headed on the 10th felt very dizzy. I just started bleeding today may 19th. My cycles are every 42 days. My husband and I have been trying for a baby almost a year and went to a fertility specialist and he has a very low sperm count. What could this be?
Irregular periods have lots of causes, hormonal imbalances being the most common. If you have heavy bleeding with dizziness then I would advise you to get your hemoglobin level tested to rule out anemia. Low sperm count can cause some delay in conceiving. Please try to find out the reason for a low count and get treated for the same.
In many cases no cause is found. Plan your pregnancy 14 days backwards from the next expected day of periods as the ovum (female egg) is released around that time. If you are not able to conceive for a long time then you may seek IVF treatment which has a good success rate and is available in many hospitals.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
