What Causes Irregular Menstruation While Treating H-pylori With Antibiotics?
I m a little concerned I have not had my period for last month and im about to ne late this month now, and I know for fact Im not pregnant, I m not sexually haven t been for a while now, but my period seem to stop when I started taking clarithromycin and metronidazole and pantoprazole for a Barterial infection called Helicobacter pylori, and on top of those my birth control Lo Loestrin fe. I don t know if I should worry about not having a period for almost two months now, my period was normal before I started on the pantoprazole 2 months ago, before the other two meds where added on the clarithromycin and the metronidazole. Should I be worried about it.

Physical illness is one of causes of delayed periods, so it is possible that the delay is related to your h pylori illness and treatment.
Other causes are:(1) abnormal thyroid hormone levels
(2)emotional illness
(3)side effect of medication
(4)high levels of the hormone prolactin
(5)polycystic ovarian syndrome
If you remain concerned, you can be assessed for these conditions. This would require blood tests and imaging (ultrasound of the uterus, tubes and ovaries).
