Hi,

Involuntary movement of the head can be caused by a variety of conditions, including neurological disorders such as cervical dystonia, Tourette's syndrome, Parkinson's disease, or Huntington's disease. It can also be caused by muscle disorders or injury to the neck or spine.

Since your wife has already undergone a CT scan and has seen a physiotherapist without any conclusive findings, it is good that you are seeking a further evaluation by a neurologist. The neurologist will perform a thorough neurological examination, which may include tests such as an MRI scan, electromyography (EMG), or other tests to help identify the underlying cause of your wife's symptoms.

It is important to keep in mind that involuntary movements can be distressing, but there are treatments available that can help manage the symptoms. Depending on the underlying cause of your wife's symptoms, the neurologist may recommend medication, physical therapy, or other treatments to help reduce the severity of the involuntary movements.

I wish you and your wife the best of luck at the appointment on Monday and hope that you can get a clearer understanding of the cause of her symptoms and the appropriate treatment options available to her.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
