What Causes Intestine Problem After Taking Toviaz?

After gallbladder surgery and due to Diabetes medication side effects I was put on Colestipol about a year ago and it has worked wonders. I take 1Gm ttwice a day. about 3 weeks ago Toviaz was added to my medications and about a week ago I started having issues with my bowels again. I also noticed that my colestipol pills seem to be coming back out indigested. I asked my Dr and she said give it some time and see if it stops she does not think the Toviaz is the cause. Do you think I should try different med instead of Toviaz or should maybe the dose of the colestipol be increased?

Hi,

I don't think Colestipol's effect has been reduced by Toviaz as they don't seem to interact in such manner. I would recommend you to wait for a few days as your doctor suggested and if the problem continues then you can try taking an alternative of Toviaz and see if it helps.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
