General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Many medications & supplements do cause formation of gas causing discomfort. Medications should not be taken in empty stomach. Water should be taken in sufficient amounts so that the medicines do not cause gastric irritations.

However, if your grandfather is very uncomfortable you can consult the treating doctor. Your grand dad may need changes in the dose or medication. He may need antacids or PPI's for relieve, give medicines after consulting the treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
