What Causes Intermittent Right Sided Abdominal Pain Despite Taking Acetaminophen?

Yesterday afternoon I started having pain in my lower right abdomen. The pain would come, last for a few seconds, and then leave, but would keep coming on and off for several hours.I took one acetamenophin and it seemed to help somewhat.Today I have twinges of pain every so often. I also took one pain reliever this morning.I also have back pain, but I had spinal stenosis diagnosed several years ago which I live with.I am 65 years old. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in the lower right abdominal area that comes and goes may be due to muscles or due to bowel problems. I would recommend you to take acetaminophen and use local warm compresses.

If you notice no improvement of the pain with this or if you notice any worsening please see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
