Been having on/off pressure in my ears/sinuses for the past three weeks. Doctor had me try Zyrtec, Flonase. Saw no improvement. Put me on a 7 day course of augmentin. Still having on/off ear pressure. Suppose to be flying to Hawaii fri. Ok to fly with the ear pressure? What is causing this pressure?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to ear barotrauma. Some advice that I have for you is:

-chewing gum
-practising breathing exercises
-taking antihistamines or decongestants

Flying should not be a problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
