What Causes Intermittent Headaches While Suffering From Mild Papilledema?
I am an optometrist and saw a patient who may have mild papilledema. Visual field testing and vision was normal. Patient occasionally wakes up with headaches. No other significant ocular signs and no hemorrhages and there was no obscuration of blood vessels. I didn t have an OCT available. Would you recommend this patient see a neurologist? Or would it be best to get a second opinion on the papilledema first?

Papilledema with normal vision is likely to be due to neurological in origin. I suggest you to consult for neurologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
