Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I noticed some very light vaginal bleeding last night - bright red colour with no clots but it was accompanied by the usual egg white fertile discharge with no blood in that. Could it be implantation bleeding or something else? I had sex a week ago but used a condom and my period isn t due for about 12 days...
Inter-ministerial bleeding can happen due to various reasons like hormonal changes, cervicitis, polyps, mucosal abrasions and not just due to implantation.
Since you have used protection during intercourse, it is unlikely to be caused due to implantation. Kindly wait for periods to happen as per the due date.
In case there is a delay in getting periods, kindly take a urine pregnancy test and consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
