What Causes Intense Stomach Pain With History Of Appendectomy?
My son is having intense stomach pains. He thought it was gas earlier today, has now vomited twice, and still experiencing pain. He has already had an appendectomy, so it can t be that. He says it does not feel like normal stomach flu. It is now midnight and I am trying to decide if this is something we should go to the emergency room for. Thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history related to your son who had had appendectomy, seemingly in past. Now has pain in abdomen, vomited twice, he does not feel this as a routine stomach flu. It is midnight and you want to decide whether to take him to ER.. The cause can be intestinal infection as appendectomy already was done. I would advise you the following: Since this is midnight it is better to take him to ER so that a proper clinical evaluation and investigations like ultrasonography, X-ray, tests of blood, stool and urine can be done and all these combined together can give a proper diagnosis and treatment.
