What Causes Intense Burning Pain In The Ear?

I have a perforated ear drum and an infection that requires Ciprodex and Clotrimazole 1% 3 times daily. The pain from the Clortimazole is an intense long lasting burning pain that radiates from ear and neck and is a terrible pain. I would say the pain is an 8-9 out of ten a scale and lasts for five - ten minutes. Is there anything else I can use as an anti-fungal that will not cause such intense burning?

Hi, thanks for your query.
If cotrimoxaxole is causing so much pain and burning don't use it.
Regular ear cleaning, and oral antifungal drugs will help you. Keep your ear dry.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
